Description
Caol Ila is an Islay distillery situated on the eastern shore of the Sound of Islay, overlooking the Paps of Jura. One of the island's largest producers, it is a key component in many blends as well as being bottled extensively as a single malt by both the distillery and independent bottlers.
This expression was distilled at Caol Ila on 9th December 2015 and initially matured in a refill hogshead before being re-racked into a second-fill Palo Cortado Sherry Quarter cask on 9th July 2024. It was bottled on 16th September 2025 at cask strength — 60.6% ABV — as bottle 96 of 155, natural colour and non chill-filtered. Released by The Islay Whisky Vault, Bridgend, Islay, as their Jazz 2025 Edition. This is a Private Single Cask Bottling.
