Description
The Jura Distillery, revived in 1963 on the Isle of Jura, brought whisky-making back to the island after more than 50 years. Built originally in 1810 but long silent, the modern distillery produces a range of lightly peated to unpeated whiskies, shaped by Jura’s maritime climate and tall stills that create a lighter spirit. Owned by Whyte & Mackay, Jura has seen major brand revamps and now offers both core expressions and limited editions. The remote island setting, rugged landscapes, and variable peat influence contribute to Jura’s distinctive identity and growing global recognition.
This Single Malt Whisky was distilled at the Isle of Dura Distillery on 28/04/1976 and then, 20 years later, was drawn from the cask to be put into this bottle. It is one of 615 bottles and is from cask number 1862.
