Description

Duncan Taylor, founded in 1938, began as a cask broker before becoming a major independent bottler with significant warehouses of mature Scotch. Known for their Rare Auld, Dimensions, and Octave Series, Duncan Taylor bottles a wide range of ages, including many long-aged single malts and grains. The Octave Series, which uses small, highly active casks, helped popularize alternative maturation and finishing approaches. Duncan Taylor is also known for early access to casks from now-closed distilleries. They maintain strong quality standards, offering both classic, understated selections and bold, cask-driven whiskies appealing to modern drinkers.

Independent bottler Duncan Taylor launched The Rarest Reserve Collection in 2024 with this 33-year-old single malt from The Macallan, coinciding with the distillery's 200th anniversary. The sleek 100ml bottle, housed in a case that resembles a gold bar, contains single malt distilled at Macallan in 1991 and matured for 33 years in oloroso sherry casks. A limited release of 500 bottles.

Macallan is one of the world's most iconic distilleries, producing some of the most sought-after whiskies by whisky connoisseurs and collectors alike. Macallan's Curiously Small Stills are amongst the smallest on Speyside. Their unique size and shape give the spirit maximum contact with the copper, helping to concentrate the 'new make' spirit and providing the rich, fruity, full-bodied flavours characteristic of Macallan.
