Established in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, Yamazaki is Japan’s oldest whisky distillery and the birthplace of Suntory whisky. Located at the confluence of pure waters and humid bamboo forests near Kyoto, Yamazaki produces a diverse range of spirit styles using various still shapes, yeast strains, and cask types, including Mizunara oak. Its single malts—especially Yamazaki 12, 18, and rare limited editions—are globally revered for elegance, fruitiness, and complexity. Yamazaki has played a central role in the international rise of Japanese whisky.
A limited edition Yamazaki Suntory pure malt whisky. This Suntory Pure Malt was the first version of this single malt release from Yamazaki, introduced in 1984.
