The Old Pulteney Bow Wave is a landmark release from Old Pulteney Distillery, unveiled as the oldest expression in the distillery’s history. Aged for an extraordinary 45 years, this single malt represents a pinnacle of craftsmanship and a defining moment in the legacy of this renowned coastal Highland distillery.
Named “Bow Wave,” the whisky pays homage to Old Pulteney’s maritime heritage, inspired by the surge of water that breaks against the bow of a ship. This evocative title reflects both the distillery’s seafaring roots and the enduring influence of its coastal environment, where the North Sea air shapes the character of the spirit over decades of maturation.
After 45 years in cask, the whisky has developed exceptional depth and complexity, balancing the distillery’s signature coastal salinity with layers of rich oak, dried fruits, and gentle spice. Hints of honeyed sweetness, citrus, and soft maritime notes intertwine, creating a refined and elegant profile that lingers long on the palate.
