The Macallan M Copper is a striking 2022 release from The Macallan, celebrating both the distillery’s heritage and the craftsmanship that defines its whisky-making. This expression pays tribute to the generations of people who have shaped The Macallan, while also honouring its iconic “curiously small stills,” crafted from copper, which play a vital role in creating the distillery’s distinctive spirit character.
These uniquely small stills maximise contact between the spirit and copper, helping to refine and concentrate the new-make spirit, allowing rich, full-bodied flavours to develop from the very beginning of the whisky’s journey. This focus on detail is reflected in the final whisky, which displays both elegance and depth.
Bottled at 42% ABV, Macallan M Copper is described as having the colour of natural spun gold, a visual nod to its warmth and richness. The whisky offers a refined and layered profile, with notes of dried fruits, soft spice, and gentle oak, balanced by a smooth, rounded texture and a lingering finish.
Presented in a beautifully crafted Lalique crystal decanter, the release is as much a work of art as it is a whisky, embodying luxury and precision.
