Speyside Whisky for auction

"The Laird of Easter Elchies" (1659-1715), is volume 1 in the series and was released in 2021. The Macallan is steeped in history and this series is said to celebrate their iconic history.

Captain John Grant really laid the foundations and invested a huge amount of time in what we now know as their spiritual home, Easter Elchies house. Volume 1 celebrates him and his contribution to this magnificent Speyside whisky.

Only 350 bottles of this 1950 vintage whisky were made and are encapsulated within a handcrafted crystal decanter by the French company, Lalique. The whisky was chosen by their lead whisky maker Sarah Burgess and is each bottle is found within an 800-page almanac made by English heritage bookmakers, Shepherds Bookbinders. The leather book tells the story of Captain John Grant’s life and features spectacular illustrations by the renowned, Andrew Davidson. The leather book is of the finest quality and boasts 24ct gold leaf.

Macallan has released a real work of art and choose to always work with only the best in their field. For example, the release comes with an etched stopper that shows one of Andrew Davidson’s captivating illustrations and once opened you have a bespoke transit stopper by artisan craftsmen J.C. Ribiero.
