Description

The Macallan Red Collection reflects Macallan's deep respect for time, tradition and craftsmanship and the entwinement of the colour through their history:  Macallan Founder Alexander Reid—literally “The Red”; to The Macallan’s ‘Choice Old’ range released over a century ago in 1903; through to Allan Shiach marking vintage bottles of The Macallan with a red ribbon in the 1980s.

The Red Collection is an extraordinary collection that combining Macallan's oldest-ever ongoing bottlings – 40, 50, and 60-year-old single malts – with a limited-edition trio of the oldest whiskies ever bottled by the distillery – 71, 74 and 78-year-old single malts. Every edition in the Macallan Red Collection is extremely limited.

Each bottle in the collection comes in an oak presentation box lined with soft red Scottish leather, and a bespoke case is also available to house a trio of ongoing or limited-edition releases. Every bottle comes with a natural oak plinth which was previously a stave from a cask. Due to the plinths previous life as a whisky barrel you will see some minor imperfections, scratches, holes etc because it is a natural product.

The Macallan 71 Year Old is made from sherry seasoned casks and bottled at 41.6% abv.
