Description
This is a special bottling for the Viking Line Whisky Fair, which was a huge success. This bottle could only be purchased onboard Viking Cinderella 2015 and caused chaos when it was released. Thanks to its quality and exclusivity, Archipelago has been talked about and in demand. Thought as a one-off event, it became an annual tradition.
After the success of the festival auction in 2014, we thought that one could do something similar to the Viking Line Whisky Fair 2015. This too is a very limited edition that can only be purchased on board Cinderella. It should of course be a unique bottling that stands out and maintains our high quality. The Archipelago is in the style of The Festival 2014, but with an unpeated distillate.
All casks underwent quality control before filling. No unpleasant scents were detected in addition to the expected vanilla and buttermilk.
Four 96 liter barrels of hard roasted new American oak were filled with 63.5% ABV unpeated spirit 05/12/2011.
Until October 2014, our casks have matured in a damp warehouse, where they lost slightly more alcohol than expected. Since October 2014 until bottling, the casks have been maturing in a dry environment in warehouse number 3.
07/01/2015 the whisky was moved to our blending tank and the strength was reduced with water to 54.8% ABV before bottling.
A total of 700 bottles were bottled to The Archipelago.

TGWA may try to highlight conditions of interest of lots being sold in the auction. The majority of the items being sold are of second-hand nature and TGWA cannot be held responsible for any conditions that may not have been specified when listing the lots on the site. Thus, the bidder fully understands, prior to confirming a bid they are happy with the condition of the lot, whether it has conditions noted or otherwise.
Should there be a discrepancy between the photo and the lot title/description, the photograph holds the precedent. No claim can be lodged against a misdescribed item as all lots are sold as seen.
Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, the condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit. Loss and breakage cover is available at 3% of the hammer price as standard. If the lot is not insured, no claim can be lodged against the courier or The Grand Whisky Auction for breakage or loss in transit.
