An independant bottler, based in Huntly, that has produced some amazing whiskies over the years and goes by the name of Duncan Taylor. Their most common lines are Black Bull, Indian Summer, Smokin', The Octave, The Rarest, Tantalus and Rare Auld. Duncan Taylor founded in 1938 as a cask broker and trading company in Glasgow. The company built strong ties over the years with distillers and distilleries over Scotland. They eventually run their own casks to different distilleries to be filled and this resulted in a superb collection of casks from different distilleries. As it transpires, many of these are now closed. Lucky for them, their casks are maturing nicely in their warehouses! Euan Shand took over the company in 2001, who has a wide range of industry experience and has has time at Glendronach distillery, William Teacher’s & Sons, and founding/running The Bennachie Whisky Company.
This Glen Grant has been matured for over 36 years in cask #16560 and was bottled in 2001. It is one of only 204 bottles.
