Description

Found in the village of Aberlour, this distillery is found near the village of Craigellachie at the heart of Speyside. Translating it, it means rocky hill which refers to the cliff that looks over the river Spey.  The distillery was originally built and founded in 1891 by blenders/merchants. The following years were prosperous and ownership was transferred to a gentleman called Peter Mackie who in drove the distillery forward in 1916. Large amounts of the distilleries production is put forward to Dewar's blended whisky, however, their official bottlings are becoming much more prevalent.

This bottle was commissioned by Whiskybroker and was bottled 12.12.2019. Only 327 bottles were released from this single cask. It began its maturing journey in a bourbon barrel and then was transferred into an oloroso sherry hogshead.
