Isle of Islay whisky for auction

Released in 2018, Port Charlotte's long-awaited 10 year old is a rich and smoky whisky made by the artisan minded Bruichladdich distillery on Islay. PC, as it's known, is heavily peated to 40ppm as part of their journey to make the ultimate “Islay” Islay whisky.

The Port Charlotte 10 Year Old whisky is produced in tall, narrow-necked spirit stills. This creates a lot of reflux and maximizes the amount of copper contact that the vapour receives. The result is a smooth, silky whisky, with noticeable floral elements.  Following distillation, the new-make spirit is matured in a combination of first fill ex-bourbon casks (65%), second fill bourbon casks (10%) and second fill French wine casks from Bordeaux (25%).  The whisky is bottled on site. Neither chill filtering or caramel is used.
